Enter the money you can spend
Use one figure: the amount already available for this period after tax and anything you will not spend from this pile. A net paycheck that has landed is a typical input. Gross salary, a loan offer, and a next-month forecast are different numbers; this page does not convert them.
The example uses USD. Amounts use two decimal places. The page does not convert currencies and does not take a second income line.
Name envelopes and put amounts beside them
Add a row for each job the money has: rent, groceries, a named savings pile. Rename a row by editing its name. Delete a row you do not want. A new row starts at 0.00. A blank amount on an existing row is also 0.00.

Read assigned, unassigned, and over-assigned
Three totals sit directly under the income field, before the envelope list:
- Assigned is the sum of every envelope amount.
- Unassigned is income minus assigned.
- When unassigned is below zero, the page labels it Over-assigned and shows how much the envelopes exceed income.
For the example: assigned USD 3,040.00, unassigned USD 200.00. Those 200 dollars still have no envelope. Naming them is what turns leftover into a planned pile.
Change Savings from 400.00 to 650.00 and assigned becomes USD 3,290.00. Unassigned is then shown as Over-assigned USD 50.00. The extra fifty is not created, borrowed, or rounded away.
Change Buffer from 220.00 to 420.00 (and leave Savings at 400.00) and assigned equals income. Unassigned is USD 0.00. In the Upwardo app, a month can be sealed only when this remainder is zero.
How to type amounts
Type 3240.00, not $3,240.00. A trailing dot such as 1. is read as 1.00. Zero is allowed; a blank income field is not. Negative amounts are refused. A third decimal, letters, a comma, a currency symbol, extra dots, and scientific notation are refused. Fix the highlighted field. Totals are not computed from a mix of valid rows and a broken one.
Print or download a CSV
Download CSV builds a small table in the browser: one income row and one row per envelope. Print allocation prints that table and the three totals. Nothing is uploaded. The file is an assignment sheet. It is not an Upwardo restore file and will not import into the app.
Entries stay in this page’s memory. Reloading or leaving clears them.

Payday in the Upwardo app
